Gone are the days of stiff studio portraits! My Temecula senior portraits are much more custom, modern, and fun!
Your senior session includes an hour of photography in one general location. I recommend bringing a couple of outfits and you can change halfway through the session. We’ll change locations multiple times so you can get different backdrops in your images.
This is one thing you DO NOT need to worry about! I am here to walk you through the entire portrait session and help you look your very best! Your only job is to show up and have fun – I’ll take it from there!
It’s fun to treat yourself for a special photography session! If you’re getting your hair and makeup done for your session, keep a light touch so you look natural. Also remember to plan for plenty of time in advance of your session so you’re not running late!
Seniors typically schedule their portraits prior to their graduating year. For a senior graduating in 2021, they may look to schedule their session the summer before. That said, Temecula can be incredibly hot in the summer, so it’s not uncommon to push these sessions to the fall, or even later in the year when spring blooms come out again. Keep in mind if there is a deadline for yearbook photos, you’ll want to schedule your session well ahead of time! My shooting schedule tends to be quite full in the fall; I recommend reaching out about possible photography dates 3 months in advance to secure your preferred date.
I schedule my sessions an hour and a half before the sun sets, typically on weekdays. Keep in mind once we are in Standard time (November – March) the earlier sunset time means an earlier session start time.
This is completely up to you and a great way to show your personality! I recommend a slightly dressier outfit, and one casual outfit. You should also feel free to bring items that represent your participation in high school, such as football helmets, instruments, or anything else you think would help capture this amazing time in your life!
My favorite location for senior portraits is Old Town Temecula! There are so many interesting areas to photograph within a walkable area. With Old Town, you definitely need to be careful in choosing your photography date because you don’t want to accidentally book your session during a festival! I always check the city calendar before scheduling a date.
If you’re looking for more of an outdoor, natural feel for your photos, I’d recommend Murrieta for your session! There are two particularly fantastic locations: Santa Rosa Plateau and Glen Arbor Park. Santa Rosa Plateau has a great blend of trees, rocks, fields – more of a wilderness setting for your photos. Glen Arbor Park has lots of mature trees. If you’re looking for a fall-type to feel to your photos, definitely check out Glen Arbor Park in the autumn! It can be hard to find fall color here in the Inland Empire, but this is a pretty great location that delivers!
